Chiropractor

Chiropractors are concerned with the framework of bones and muscles that support the body (the ‘musculoskeletal system’). Problems with the musculoskeletal system can be caused by accidents, stress, lack of exercise, poor posture, illness and everyday wear and tear. These problems may cause pressure on the nerves in the body.

Depending on the condition, a chiropractor may manipulate parts of your spine or joints and provide advice on exercise, self help, diet and lifestyle. Manipulation involves precisely handling or moving joints, or parts of the spine, sometimes moving them further than they would normally move.

Gary Backlund’s treatment techniques include Diversified, SOT (Sacral Occipital Technique), Craniopathy, Myofasical dry needing, acupuncture and core stability exercises. Many of the patients he sees at his clinic are those with office-related pains or sports injuries. Once he has managed to resolve the pain, he places a strong emphasis on reducing the likelihood of a re-occurrence by focusing on long term management with exercises and behavioral modification. He also provides treatments for the following:

  • Back, neck and shoulder problems, including sciatica
  • Sports injuries (rotator cuff problems, tendinopathy, shin splits, knee pain, ankle pain)
  • Joint, posture and muscle problems/pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Back pain during pregnancy and after delivery

Appointments: By appointment only Mondays 4pm – 6pm, Wednesdays 2.30pm - 5pm
